The East is one of four constituencies in the Republic of Ireland to elect Members of the European Parliament. It comprises all the counties of Leinster, with the exception of Dublin, which is a separate constituency.
The counties of the East constituency are:
Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Wexford and Wicklow.
From the 5th of June 2009 the Constituency Boundaries are changing and will not include the Counties of Westmeath and Longford.
